How We Begin
Working with Nova Scholars begins with a 45-minute consultation to assess fit. You'll provide relevant context in advance: school reports, current challenges or information that helps me understand your child's situation. I'll also speak directly with your child to gauge their perspective and readiness for this work.
Following our discussions, I evaluate whether Nova's methodology aligns with your family's needs and whether I can deliver meaningful results. If we're a strong match, I'll propose a tailored engagement structure.

Common questions from parents
When should we start?
Ideally, Year 9. This is when students begin making decisions with long-term consequences: subject choices, supercurricular commitments, early university thinking. Starting earlier means more leverage. Starting later is still valuable, but the opportunity cost increases.
For university students, the answer is now. The strategic thinking capability we build applies immediately to career positioning, networking and institutional navigation.
How is this different from a good school counselor?
School counselors provide pastoral care and general academic guidance. They're generalists managing hundreds of students. My child already has a tutor. Is this redundant?

If you choose Tier 2 or 3, we coordinate with your existing tutors or find you new ones to ensure all support aligns to the strategic plan.

We use proprietary scoring systems across four coordinates: identity architecture, decision quality, systems capability and strategic autonomy. Progress is tracked quarterly. You'll see shifts in how your child evaluates choices, responds to pressure and positions themselves. Not just grade improvements.
