NOVA
SCHOLARS

Your child doesn't need more tutoring.
They need strategic thinking.

Nova Scholars builds the capability that determines trajectory. Decision architecture, identity strength and long-range positioning that most students never develop. This is an investment in how your child thinks, not just what they achieve next semester.

What you're actually investing in

This is not a transaction. This is capability building. Here's what changes when students work with Nova Scholars.

  • Decision Architecture

Your child learns to make high-stakes decisions when certainty is low. They develop frameworks for evaluating options, understanding opportunity cost and choosing with clarity instead of fear.

  • Identity Strength

Performance collapses when identity is fragile. We build identity strength. The internal stability that allows students to interpret challenge correctly, resist comparison and maintain direction under competitive pressure.

  • Long-Range Positioning

Your child learns to think in years, not semesters. They understand how choices compound, where leverage exists and how to sequence opportunities to maximise future optionality.

  • Strategic Autonomy

Most students become dependent on external validation and direction. Nova builds students who can evaluate their own trajectory, make important tradeoffs and operate independently without constant reassurance.

Students who develop these frameworks consistently outperform. Over 10,000 hours of direct work with students. 100% university placement. Competitive recruitment success across finance, consulting and graduate programmes. Placements include Cambridge, Imperial, LSE, UCL, King's College London, Queen Mary, SOAS, Warwick, York, Durham, Manchester, Nottingham, Bath inter alia.

These are byproducts of building genuine strategic capability — not the goal itself.

Three ways to work with Nova Scholars

Not every student needs the same thing. Some need clarity on what's actually going wrong. Some need the complete strategic thinking toolkit. Some have a specific problem that needs solving now. Nova Scholars offers a clear path for each.

Targeted

The Intensive

Solve a specific problem, now.

Best For:

Students facing a time-sensitive decision or challenge — confidence has collapsed before exams, they're paralysed about university choices, or they can't find direction. This is a hands-on intervention, not a course.

What's Included:
  • 2-3 focused sessions over 2-4 weeks
  • Small group (4-6 students) or paired format
  • We identify the 1-2 frameworks that apply to the problem

Private Advisory

For families seeking comprehensive, retained support — including full coordination of tutors, specialists and your child's developmental trajectory — Teresa works privately with a maximum of six families at any time. This practice operates separately from Nova Scholars programmes.

By introduction or direct enquiry: teresa@teresasong.co

"Teresa doesn't give our daughter answers. She teaches her how to find them herself and to reason. As parents, that's what we actually needed but didn't know to ask for."

How We Begin

Every engagement begins with a 30-minute consultation. We'll discuss your child's situation, what's working, what isn't and what decisions are ahead. This helps us recommend the right starting point.

For most families, The Compass is the natural first step — it gives you a clear, structured picture before committing to a programme. For families who already know what they need, we can discuss The Programme or The Intensive directly.

We work with families where we're confident the methodology will make a genuine difference.

Common questions from parents

When should we start?

Ideally, Year 9. This is when students begin making decisions with long-term consequences: subject choices, supercurricular commitments, early university thinking. Starting earlier means more leverage. Starting later is still valuable, but the opportunity cost increases.

For university students, the answer is now. The strategic thinking capability we build applies immediately to career positioning, networking and institutional navigation.

How is this different from a good school counselor?

School counselors provide pastoral care and general academic guidance. They're generalists managing hundreds of students. Nova provides specialised strategic thinking frameworks, proprietary decision models and deep identity architecture work. We operate at the level of competitive positioning and long-range trajectory.

We're not replacing counselors. We're providing the layer of strategic capability that schools don't teach, because they lack the time and resources to.

Will this help with Oxbridge admissions?

Yes, but not in the way you think. We don't just "prepare for Oxbridge." We build the thinking capability, identity strength and intellectual independence that Oxbridge selects for. Students who develop strategic thinking naturally become stronger applicants because they've built genuine capability, not only a polished performance.

Oxbridge is a thinking style, not a destination. Students who adopt that thinking style grow regardless of where they apply.

My child already has a tutor. Is this redundant?

No. Tutoring and strategic thinking serve different functions. Tutors improve subject mastery. Nova builds decision architecture, identity strength and positioning capability. Most high-achieving students have tutors. Very few have strategic thinking frameworks.

How do you measure progress?

We use proprietary scoring systems across coordinates. Progress is tracked quarterly. You'll see shifts in how your child evaluates choices, responds to pressure and positions themselves. Not just grade improvements.

The real measure: your child becomes someone who can navigate competitive systems independently.

What if my child resists this kind of work?

Strategic thinking isn't therapy. It's not emotional processing. It's structured frameworks that make decision-making clearer and less stressful. Most students engage quickly because the work reduces anxiety and increases control.

Resistance usually signals identity fragility or fear of exposure, which is exactly what we address. The work becomes easier once the student sees that this builds capability, not just performance.

This is why fit matters. We conduct an initial consultation to assess whether this work will be helpful. If we determine the approach isn't right for your family or student, we'll say so. Our admission process is selective to ensure we work with families where we can deliver meaningful results and avoid wasting anyone's time or money.

Who delivers the programmes?

Teresa leads The Programme and The Intensive, and conducts all Compass Diagnostics. The methodology is proprietary and requires deep expertise to implement effectively. As Nova Scholars grows, trained facilitators may deliver Programme cohorts, but all engagements are designed and quality-controlled by Teresa.

For families seeking direct, retained work with Teresa personally, her private advisory practice is available by introduction. Contact teresa@teresasong.co.
